Seminoles Mourn the loss of Lathrup police officer, Livonia resident, killed in military duty
Livonia, MI July 1st - Lathrup Village officials and residents were stunned and saddened by word that Lathrup Police Officer Matthew Hilton, 37, had been killed Thursday while on duty with his National Guard unit in Afghanistan.
“We are heartsick and our hearts go out to his family,” Lathrup Mayor Frank Brock said of the Livonia resident.

According to military reports, Hilton was among three guardsmen killed by roadside bombs, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. Hilton was a sergeant first class in the 425th Infantry Regiment of the Michigan Army National Guard, based at Selfridge Air Base in Macomb County. Click here for full story.

SEMINOLES ROUT COLTS
Livonia, MI June 21- The Detroit Seminoles routed the visiting Pittsburgh Colts on Saturday night by the final score of 58-8. The Colts started out strong by returning the opening kick-off for a touchdown. Down 8-0 early, the Seminoles looked a little sluggish on both sides of the ball for the first couple series. It did not take long however for the Seminoles to take the game over both offensively and defensively.

CAMP DATE CHANGED!!
Due to Livonia's All Star weekend on the 28th of June, we have decided to change our camp to the weekend of July 19th. We wanted to make sure all the kids have an opportunity to attend.

2008 DETROIT SEMINOLES YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP
The 4 time National Champions AAA, Detroit Seminoles Football Club is holding it’s first annual youth football camp Saturday, July 19th. It will be held at the Livonia Churchill High School football field from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm. The camp is open to all youth ages 8-16. The camp instruction will be facilitated by the Seminoles coaches who have played in the Big Ten and NFL, along with several of the Seminoles players who have played at the University Michigan, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, Central Michigan University, Western Michigan University, University of Toledo, Grand Valley State University, University of Utah, Hope College as well as players who have played in the NFL and Arena football.

The camp will consist of in depth position drills, skills stations and proper techniques for all aspects of football. Conditioning and strength will be covered as well. The camp concludes with games of touch football separated by age groups.

The camp cost is $25 which includes a t-shirt, lunch and 2 tickets to that evening’s game against the Flint Fury at Livonia Churchill High School at 7:30 pm. The Detroit Seminoles are pre-season ranked #2 in the country.
